What is Musculoskeletal Laser Therapy?

Laser Therapy is an advanced form of treatment for pharmaceutical free pain relief. It is the use of light (red and infrared) at specific wavelengths to produce therapeutic effects including: reduced pain, improved local circulation, accelerated healing, decreased inflammation and swelling.

What are the key benefits?

  • Faster recovery and repair

  • Fast reduction in pain level

  • Fast reduction in swelling

Can Laser Therapy help my dog?

Laser therapy can be used across a diverse and wide range of ages and conditions:

  • Soft tissue injuries including muscle and ligament strains and sprains

  • Tendon dysfunction - tendonitis and tendinopathies

  • Joint pain caused by overuse, osteoarthritis or orthopaedic conditions

  • Sporting injuries - agility, flyball or canicross issues

  • Chronic musculoskeletal pain

  • Inflammation and swelling from acute injuries or long term conditions such as osteoarthritis

  • Nerve related pain

  • Post operative recovery including fractures to decrease healing and improve recovery times

The clinic offers treatment with a K-Laser Class IV laser which significantly cuts down the treatment time - a single joint can be treated in around 2.5 minutes depending on the size of the dog and colour of their coat.
